This is a 650B custom mixte I built for my wife. The frame is a custom made Ebisu from Jitensha Studio in Berkeley. (www.jitensha.com) My wife really wanted an old English or French touring bicycle, and after some frustration trying to fit modren parts on an old frame, we finally ordered a custom. The build list is as follows
Saddle: Brooklands ( by Selle Italia)
Bars: Nitto Albatross (ends were cut down 1.5 inches to match an old Raleigh handlebar)
Stem: Nitto Technomic 10cm
Shifters: Shimano bar-ends mounted on Paul's Thumbies
Crank: Sugino XT
Brake levers: Tekro reversed bar-end
Deraileurs: Shimano 105
Wheel Set: 650B Synergy rims with 105 hubs built by Rivendell Bicycle Works
Other: Honjo 650B fenders from Jitensha, Nitto water bottle cage, cork wrap bar tape for grips.
The bike really does ride like a dream. I dare call it luxurious. I am amazed by the high quality of the frame, and how quickly we got it after ordering (less than two months!) given that the geometry was fully custom.
Upcoming plans include upgrade to a proper Brooks saddle, and the addition of a front rack and bag for day trips.
